Frequently asked questions
1. What exactly is Mountain Resin Shilajit, and where does it come from?
Shilajit is a nutrient- rich mineral pitch formed over centuries from organic plant matter preserved in Himalayan rock layers. Our resin is sustainably harvested at altitude above 16,000ft. It is a potent "biomaster" supplement containing 80+ trace minerals and a high concentration of Fulvic Acid.
2. What does Mountain Resin Shilajit taste like, and why does the texture change?
Real, high quality Shilajit has a distinct, earthy, and slightly smoky flavour with a bitter undertone. It tastes exactly like what it is: a pure mineral resin from the mountains. Because it is completely natural and free from chemical stabilisers, its texture is highly temperature sensitive. It will become firm and glass like when cold, and soft and pliable when warm. This shifting texture is actually a foolproof sign of its purity.
3. If the resin is too hard to get out of the jar, how do I soften it?
Because our resin has extremely low water content, it can become very firm, especially in cooler climates. To soften it, simply place the tightly sealed jar in a bowl of warm (not boiling) water for 5-10 minutes. This will make the resin more pliable and easier to measure without compromising the quality.
4. How do I use shilajit and what is the dosage?
Use the tip of a spoon or the included spatula to break off 500mg (approx. small pea size). Dissolve it in warm unchlorinated water, herbal tea, or milk. It will take 2-3 minutes to dissolve completely due to its high density and concentration.
5. I see arsenic on the lab report. Is this safe?
Absolutely. Arsenic is a natural element found in the earth's crust, soil, and water. To put your mind at ease: you get more arsenic from eating three bowls of rice than you do from our daily dose of our Shilajit. Our Eurofins UK report shows 1.936 mg/kg, Because you only consume a tiny "pea sized" amount, the actual intake is negligible.
6. Is your shilajit lab- tested for safety?
Yes, every batch of Mountain Resin is independently tested by Eurofins UK, a world-leading laboratory. Our reports verify that our resin is safe and free from dangerous levels of heavy metals like lead, Mercury, Arsenic and Cadmium.
7. Your report shows 56.6 % Fulvic Acid. Why do other brands claim 80% plus?
We value honesty over marketing hype. In pure natural Shilajit, Fulvic Acid typically peaks at 50% - 60%. Brands claiming 80% or more are often "spiking" their products with cheap, fertilizer grade Fulvic Acid or using misleading lab tests. Our 56.6% rating is 100% naturally occurring and verified by Eurofins UK.
8.Does Mountain Resin Shilajit expire, and how should I store it?
Pure Shilajit resin technically never expires. Because it is a concentrated mineral compound that has been naturally cured over months, it is incredibly stable and naturally antimicrobial. However, for regulatory compliance, we stamp our jars with a 1 year shelf life. To store it perfectly, just keep the jar upright in a cool, dry place with the lid screwed on tightly. There is no need to refrigerate it.
9. Why is Mountain Resin Shilajit more expensive than some lager jars I see online?
You get what you pay for, and when it comes to what you put in your body, quality is everything. Our resin is harvested from pristine, high altitude peaks of the Himalayas and undergoes an extensive, multi-stage filtration process to ensure absolute purity. As we refuse to rush nature, we use a traditional "cold sun-drying" method, allowing the resin to evaporate naturally and cure carefully over a full three months.
Jars are mass produced using high heat, diluted with water and spiked with synthetic minerals, and often skip or manipulate safety checks. We invest in slow craftsmanship and premium Eurofins testing so you can trust exactly what you are consuming. Our "hard grade" resin is so highly concentrated , one jar contains more active nutrients and offers far greater peace of mind than a budget brand twice the size.
10. Are there any side effects, and who should avoid taking shilajit?
For most people, pure Shilajit is incredibly safe and well tolerated. However, it naturally boosts energy and contains high amounts of iron, you should consult a doctor before use if you have conditions like hemochrombtosis (too much iron in the blood) or sickle cell anaemia. We also recommend that anyone who is pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking prescription medication for high blood pressure speak with a healthcare professional first.
